Deluxe Smart Film Academy Opens Reservations for Its Online Smart Film Installation Course

OPA-LOCKA, Fla. — September 8, 2026 — Deluxe Smart Film, a South Florida installer of switchable PDLC privacy film, has opened VIP reservations for the Deluxe Smart Film Academy, an online, self-paced course that teaches smart film installation the way the company does it on real jobs. Enrollment opens soon; the reservation list is notified first.
Switchable smart film is applied to existing glass and turns from clear to frosted at the flip of a switch. Because the work combines film application with low-voltage electrical wiring, very few trained installers exist. The Academy was created to close that gap. As the company puts it on the course page: "We built this training because people kept asking us how to learn smart film. There was no proper program. So we created one."
What the course covers. The curriculum runs in four phases: Foundations (how PDLC film works, film types, glass assessment and measuring, tools and material sourcing, surface preparation); Installation (cleaning to installation standard, film handling, positioning and alignment, edge sealing and trimming, and what to do when something goes wrong); Electrical (connecting the film to power, transformer selection and placement, bus-bar attachment, controller wiring and app setup, cable concealment, testing and troubleshooting); and Business (site evaluation, square-footage and material estimating, pricing strategy, estimate preparation and marketing the service).
Format and certification. Lessons are video, self-paced, on any device, with lifetime access. Students who complete the required lessons and pass the course assessment receive the Deluxe Smart Film Academy Certificate of Completion, confirming they have completed the training and understand the installation methods taught in the course.
Who it is for. Window tinters, glaziers, electricians, AV integrators, general contractors and entrepreneurs entering a specialty trade. No prior window-tinting experience is required and students do not need to be electricians; the electrical component is low-voltage wiring and is taught step by step.
Pricing. The course is priced at $999.98. A $19.99 VIP reservation locks in the early-bird price of $499.99 and a place in the first cohort. The reservation fee is non-refundable; a 3% card-processing fee applies at checkout.
