It is not a HIPAA-certified product because no glass product is, and we do not claim that. Is it safe around medical equipment? The film runs on 48 to 65 volts AC from a small transformer and produces no meaningful electromagnetic interference; it is in use in exam rooms with standard monitoring equipment. Can it be cleaned with hospital disinfectants? The film is on the corridor-facing side, out of the patient zone, and is cleaned with a soft cloth and mild cleaner; the patient-side glass is cleaned as usual. Does it fail safe? Yes — in a power cut the film turns frosted, so rooms stay private.
Control options for a practice
A wall switch inside each room by the door is the default and needs no training. For practices with a building-automation or lighting system we add "privacy" to the existing keypad or scene. Larger groups can tie rooms to a schedule so everything frosts at closing. Remote and app control are available but rarely wanted in clinical settings.
